It did work on my previous laptop and I always remove the drive safely. I have had good luck with free MiniAide Fat32 Formatter, which analyzed my 3TB Hard Drive and allowed me to Partition and Re-Format in Windows 7.

It shows up in Device Manager under W10 but not in File Explorer or Disk Management. Anyone have any ideas? You can get Windows to do it, but you have to purchase third-party software. If a drive isn’t recognized by any computer you connect it to and never shows up in the Disk Management window, it’s probably dead.
