While I cannot say why search in Windows 10 is not working at times, I have found a fix for the issue that worked 100% on the affected system so far. So far nothing has worked and the only thing I have not yet tried was re-installing teh whole OS. Sorry about the "lack of detail in my post", as you put it. Cool!!
