Resuming the process again should not be that slow so I think you have to blame the slowness on something else, probably XAML/WinRT or just bad design and/or implementation/code... It's easy! Same problem exists with any Metro app like Skype, it makes no sense to run them on a desktop/laptop. To the point where I've left search to run when I go to bed, woke up about 6-8 hours later, and it hasn't made an ounce of progress. Problem arise after 24-30 hours (more or less) using PC.
