I need to use it for another week to get a full feel for battery life, but so far it's looking VERY promising! I have updated every driver that I have going one by one in the device manager. Once inside Event Viewer, select "System Log" (or other log) to check for error message that may give you a better clue. I think if I close the lid it will make more heat as the ventillation exhaust will be almost closed, so I prefer the lid to be half-opened. make sure you enable hibernate mode in the power features as well; make sure the wake on LAN option is turned off in your bios (i'd reset your bios to default When you start it up, does Windows come back within a couple of seconds?
