At this point I would suggest you run a full scan with Avast to check all is OK. Not to mention that i got the same problem previously, when avast or any other antivirus software has never been installed to this laptop. Microsoft was actually pretty egregious. However, the servers i play in require the Flex Anticheat program. I use that as my main OS and have both McAfee and WD turned on and no problems. First, that Microsoft provides third-parties with new versions of Windows and updates in "good time".
We felt terrible for our customers because our own product was in a sense being held hostage by security software. Anyway, don't make fun.
