Thank you for elegantly solving my problem. Similar, when run in XP-mode (not the actual VM started) the visible window is not found (also not as a child). Method 3 worked, although my problem was due to the Network Adapter running, as opposed to the wireless mouse/keyboard. Also I can't seem to figure out how to have Windows Recovery to make restore points as I go along....in Win7

PC2 - The problem with rundll32.exe was still present despite nearly identical Windows Updates. It's intermittent (for me at least) in that it hasn't happened to me for a week now.
